I was planning writing something peppy and sarcastic for my quick post about what’s headed your way this week, but then Anton Yelchin died. I have to be honest: this fucking sucks. He was extremely talented. He was one of the few actors whom I would watch with respect. I was looking forward to seeing what he would do as more time wore on. Even if I didn’t love the film he was in, he was consistently fantastic. My hands-down favorite was his turn in Delivering Milo, a story about a young soul that has to be convinced to be born. When a child that young can convey so much joy so effortlessly onscreen… it was apparent that he had something special from a young age. We’ll miss you, kid.
This week, we’ll look at why kids need horror via Goosebumps, why being trans doesn’t render you off-limits with The Silence of the Lambs, and a recommendation for some good, goofy fun with Dude, Where’s My Car?
In the meantime, go eat some ice cream and get a hug. We could all use it.
