Oh this is not something I wanted to write, but I think it’s been a while in coming.

Let’s get something straight: I love and adore short film. It’s a great escape, and it showcases a metric ton of talent and ingenuity to pack an entire story into a condensed amount of time. I have the utmost respect for short filmmakers. You can really see where they pour their hearts into a project. They often maintain the element of fun and escape, which is so very needed in this world.

Which is why I need to be fair to the art form I respect. The simple fact is that I’ve got a few amazing things going on in the background, and I can’t devote the time necessary to do the subject justice. The shorts I want to share deserve someone who can give them the amount of headspace and cultivation they have earned, and with the way I’m going right now, I don’t feel I’m bringing my best to the game. And so it is with a heavy heart that I announce that Saturday Shorts will be on haitus. We’ll let you know when we’re back. In the words of Avenue Q, “… but it’s only temporary.”
