Some days, it feels like nothing can go right. Try as you might, it doesn’t work out, often at your expense. Some days, you have to laugh at that, lest you cry. In that spirit, here’s a morbid comedy short from writer/director/producer John Allen called Monday Morning.

The music from Emma Fisk makes this whole thing light-hearted and slightly snarky, proving once again that music can really set the tone for just about anything. Don’t believe me? Watch any scary scene from A Nightmare on Elmstreet whilst listening to an overly cheerful rendition of “Enter the Gladiator” and try not to laugh. But really, this was a good short in that it got me to laugh and didn’t have to reinforce how witty it was being. It was subtle. And, frankly, needed after this week.
