Yippie-ki-yay, Mother…

 This Saturday, one of our local theaters will screen a midnight showing of Die Hard, to which I am going. In reference to our earlier Halloween posts, I do have one Christmas tradition that I have tried to maintain, though I couldn’t often find copies of Die Hard (yes, I know…time to go ahead and buy it): that was to have Die Hard going on the TV in the background while I baked Christmas cookies. I have no peer-reviewed data to present, but I am convinced that the cookies tasted better when I did that. If you’ve never managed to watch the film and wonder what all the hoopla is about, you can check out a few podcasts and trailers (like the one below) to whet your appetite.

I won’t be able to simultaneously bake cookies this time, obviously, but may find another way to honor the tradition:

So whatever you do to celebrate this time of year, be it for Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, or Festivus, you do you and have a wonderful holiday season!
