Trailer Tuesdays: Prevenge
I was going to let a Tuesday pass without a trailer, but then this little baby popped up not once, but twice yesterday. I discovered this while playing on Twitter, and then had our own Dan send it to me with an excited, “Have you seen this?” This one comes to us from Alice Lowe. It’s called Prevenge. Check it out.
Does the name Lowe sound familiar? That’s due to the fact that Alice has worked with Ben Wheatley before. She’s also been in Hot Fuzz and Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place. This is a woman that knows both funny and scary, and I trust her. Evil babies/children are a gamble: it can turn into bad comedic fodder quickly if done improperly, but this one looks like it’s going to strike the right balance between sarcastic and bloody. Apparently, it was penned in part due to the desire to shed light on postpartum depression, which is indeed a worthy task. After all, the best way to address your fears can often be found in a horror film.
Not sure when this is getting a U.S. release, but damned if I won’t be seeking this one out.
