Trailer Tuesdays: Justice League
Let’s keep partying with the trailers. San Diego Comic Con gave us a look at the upcoming Justice League film we’re getting in November. There has been some concerns over this movie, as DC Comic films haven’t had the best of all track records. Luckily, Wonder Woman knocked it out of the park this summer, and our faith has been renewed, thanks in part to strong writing, an excellent eye for a battle scene, and a lead that we could all stand next to proudly. Bearing that in mind, here’s the trailer for Justice League.
AQUAMAN!!!
Seriously, folks, there’s something here we need to address. Remember how everyone was falling all over themselves to make Ben Affleck feel all warm and toasty as Batman? Remember how many people kept saying we needed to give him a chance? Well… it sort of feels like he’s taken a backseat here. It feels like everyone realized that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman did all the work on the science project, and the teacher has left her in charge of the class. Not only that, but it also feels like Warner Brothers is trying to break up with the Batfleck. He’s not directing the standalone Batman, he’s not writing it, and now it feels like he’s getting inched out of Justice League. I’ve watched this happen before. This is the part where someone is being told they don’t have to go to the company Christmas party in a few months; next, they’re going to get asked not to publicly comment on social media posts. Soon enough, calls will be dodged and plans will keep getting moved. Like I said, we’re watching Warner Brothers break up with Ben Affleck, and I’m not so sure Ben realizes that.
Which means it’s going to be glorious.
I’m not a huge DC Comics fan, but damned if I’m not behind this movie. If they can make Aquaman look badass, then I’m in.
