The dating world is scary. In the back of my head, part of me always wonders if the person you’ve just met that you’ve agreed to go out with isn’t a serial killer. Hey, come on, give me credit – it’s a twisted world. So what happens when you fix up a virgin about to turn 30 with a pair of foxy ladies that have something to hide? A date movie for the modern age. Here’s a look at Double Date, which drops on October 13th.

I’m not entirely sure how this could pan out. It seems like it could be funny, but I also think that we got the serial-killing-woman with Prevenge, and that had a ton of social commentary to it. Not that there’s not enough social commentary to go around, but this one feels far more focused on the traditional path: inexperienced man tries to get laid and hilarity ensues. I’m not sure that there’s something particularly new with this one. While I’m hoping it’s got some good parts to it… I have to be honest and really hope that it’s not just another get-laid-quick-while-being-adorkable vehicle. I’m really concerned that it is, because the focus is on these two women being not just serial killers, but hot serial killers. It’s like the slutty Halloween costume goes to a club. Please, somebody, prove me wrong.
