This dropped on Friday, but I was committed to not doing anything last week. If nothing else, we are method around here.

So, we’ve got an extended trailer for It, due out in September. And this time, Pennywise speaks! Let’s take a looksy, shall we?

So, first thing’s first: I am really concerned that Bill is not stuttering at all. That’s a core piece of his character – his goddamned nickname was Stuttering Bill. I hope that aspect makes it in, because without it, well, that takes away a massive part of why he was part of the Loser’s Club. That said… this looks solid, and not just because Bill Skarsgard is creepy in his getup with the huge teeth. What strikes me are the pieces of the book that are making it into the story this time around. Eddie’s broken arm. Ben getting the name carved into his stomach (Jesus that one always makes me cringe when I read it). I have said it before, and I’ll say it again: I have high hopes for Sophia Lillis as Bev. She looks the part, and I am so excited to see what she can do. Also high on my list? Chosen Jacobs as Mike. Jacobs has presence galore. Sure, Finn Wolfhard is getting a ton of love as Richie (and rightfully so – he’s great on Stranger Things), but I think between Bev and Mike, the team on this film has really nailed the cast. I’m finding myself excited to see what they do with Ben, Eddie and Stan as well.

In short: my money – take it.
