So I went to see the new Halloween this weekend, and I am following it up with a Black Mirror chaser and wondering what in holy Hell is wrong with me.

This week, we’re sticking with the scary more so than the softer, funnier side of the Halloween season. We’ll be taking a look at the misdirection I took during Hereditary (2018),  to give you a taste of what weird stuff goes on in my brain while I’m watching a film (and how I sometimes go waaaaaaay off the mark). We’ll then recommend Poltergeist (1982) – the original, not the Sam Rockwell version I’m not going to touch with a ten-foot pole (sorry, Sam). We all need some scares.
